NexGen Buildings / Prototypes
NexGen Prototypes are OpDez Architecture’s systems-first building concepts—a curated lineup of forms and program archetypes designed to be energy-independent, controls-ready, and digital-twin deliverable. These are not “smart features added later.” NexGen integrates generation, storage, controls, sensing, and lifecycle data into the design workflow from day one so performance can be validated early and carried into operations.
Each prototype is a starting point that can be adapted to your site, climate, program, and risk profile. The goal is to compress the gap between vision and buildability with a repeatable framework: feasibility → prototype selection → BIM + performance loops → commissioning-ready digital twin pathway → operations value.
How to use this lineup
-
Start with constraints: site, climate, program, target loads, resilience requirements, and interconnection reality.
-
Select a base prototype: choose the concept whose massing and “systems bias” best matches the project intent.
-
Engineer the power + controls stack: coordinate wind/solar/storage/microgrid controls with BAS/BMS strategy, metering points, and sensor placement.
-
Validate with performance loops: energy, airflow, and daylight modeling to quantify tradeoffs before costly commitments.
-
Deliver a digital-twin-ready pathway: a coordinated model aligned to assets, systems, and measurement points—so handover supports commissioning and real operations (not just drawings).

Robotics + Automation

On-site wind generation integrated into the building’s energy system to reduce grid dependence and support resilient operations.

Roof and site photovoltaics paired with controls to deliver clean power and predictable performance.

Battery and storage strategies that smooth peaks, increase resilience, and enable islanding when needed.

A coordinated microgrid architecture that manages generation, storage, loads, and grid interaction in real time.

Controls-ready integration that connects building systems, sensors, and equipment into a unified management layer.

Continuous monitoring of air quality and comfort signals to improve health, performance, and operational response.

A twin-ready model connected to live data for visibility, diagnostics, and performance optimization over time.

Secure, permissioned data architecture with auditability to protect systems, users, and lifecycle records.

Automation pathways for inspection, maintenance, and operations—designed to integrate safely with building systems and workflows.
What “Prototype” means at OpDez
These concepts are design studies and delivery frameworks, not off-the-shelf construction documents. Every NexGen project requires site-specific engineering, code coordination, performance validation, and a commissioning pathway aligned to the owner’s operational goals.
